A catch-all functionality that is activated for a given mailbox will permit you to receive email messages that are sent to addresses that do not actually exist. To put it differently, if you remove an email address and someone still sends a message to it, or to any mistyped email address under the very same domain, you’ll get the email in the catch-all mailbox. Using this feature means that you won’t miss an email for any reason, which could be vital in case you run some company, for example. Since you may start receiving junk emails, you can combine the catch-all functionality with anti-spam filters in order to receive only real messages in your inbox. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting
In case you have a Linux shared web hosting with us and you would like to activate the catch-all option for a certain mailbox that you have in your web hosting account, it will take literally just a single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have created under any domain name registered in the account. You can select one single email address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will activate the feature immediately, so all email messages sent to mistyped email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button again will disable the catch-all feature. In case you have active email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary notice and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature till you remove the forwarding or you can simply choose another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The catch-all feature can be activated with ease if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you’ve created with the domain names hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be enumerated in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will see a tiny sign conveniently situated right next to each one. With only a click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with this option already activated and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable this option using the menu that will appear. If any of the conditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will warn you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
